NGU receives accreditation for MBA degree program
Classes to begin at Fairview campus in Greer on July 21

Tigerville, SC - The Southern Association of Colleges and Universities (SACS) recently approved North Greenville University’s Master of Business program. The approval allows NGU to begin offering a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) beginning July 21 at its T. Walter Brashier School in Greer.
This is the second graduate program to be accredited. The first was a Masters of Christian Ministry, which started in February.

Classes will be held on 10-week terms. Five out of the 10 weeks students will attend class on Friday nights and Saturdays. The program allows students to obtain an MBA in 16 months. “Student can attend class without the worry of missing work or any obligations they might have. The convenience in the schedule allows students to earn a masters and still maintain a full time job,” said Vice President and Dean for Graduate Studies Dr. J. Samuel Isgett.
Students in the program will enjoy small class sizes and personal attention. “The faculty and staff know every student by name. We have an enrollment of 30 students in the Christian Ministry program and have 25 students scheduled for the MBA program. Our goal is to have at least 100 students enrolled before fall,” added Isgett.
With recent high profile examples of business leaders acting unethically, the need for a value-based business education has never been greater. “Each graduate course is Christ-centered. We have faculty who infuse Christian values in learning. The faculty has been part of the business world and realizes the need for Christian values,” said Isgett. “Courses like this are needed in today’s world. Every time someone turns on the news there is some business treating people wrong.”
Location is another benefit to enrolling in NGU’s MBA program. The school is at the university’s Fairview campus in a growing area between the metropolitan areas of Greenville and Spartanburg.
Each student is required to take at least two classes that cost $230 per credit hour or $690 per course.
The classes required for the degree are: Financial Management, Economics for Managers, The Marketing Process, Human Resources, Management, Information Systems, Quantitative Methods in Business, Operations Management, Research Methods in Business, Managerial Accounting, Business Strategy and Policy Issues in Professional Ethics, and Leadership Development.
According to Isgett, NGU hopes to offer additional graduate programs in the future.
