Account Information

This page applies to Students.


Each student is assigned a Crusader ID when the first deposit is made, or when registration occurs.  Your Crusader ID and password will allow you to gain access to computer labs, your e-mail account, printer account, the Student Portal, library databases, and to Blackboard.

Your  ID and password are created using your name, student ID number, and a portion of your social security number (SSN).

Crusader ID:  Your ID is made from a combination of your last name* and the last three digits of your student ID number (e.g. wayne123).

*If your last name exceeds twelve letters, it will be shortened so that your  ID is no longer than 15 characters. 

For Crusader IDs that were set up before the spring of 2011, your  ID consists of your first and middle* initial then your last name (E.g. rbwayne).

Password: Your password begins with your first initial capitalized, then your middle* and last initial, and finally the last five digits of your SSN** (E.g. Rbw56789).

*If we have no middle name on record, an 'x" will be substituted for the middle initial.

**If we have no SSN, the last five numbers of your student ID number is used instead.

Self-Service Password Reset

If you are having problems logging into your email, student portal, or your account on a campus computer, use the NGU Password site to reset your password. You must have pre-registered with the site to take advantage of this service.

Register

You must register with the site before you can use the program. Enter your Crusader ID and password, then choose five security questions to answer. Make sure you choose questions and answers that you will remember. After choosing these questions you will be enrolled into the password manager.

Password Reset

When resetting your password, you must answer three of your security questions. The site will allow you to choose your password based on the password requirements.  If you know your current credentials, you will be able to change your password. Enter your credentials and change your password based on the password requirements*.

Note: After re-setting or changing your password you must wait two days before changing it again. If you run into any problems you can call the Helpdesk at 864-977-7272.

*Password Requirements: Your password must be at least 8 characters long with at least one capital and one lowercase letter along with at least one number or special character. It cannot contain your name, and you cannot use one of your previous passwords.
