Julie Parker Styles has been named the new Director of Alumni Relations and Planned Giving since July 2015. She has served in previous positions and roles at the University including:
Admissions Recruiter 1990-1994,
Member of the NGU Board of Trustees , Including serving on the Executive Committee of the Board.
Member of the Alumni Board and also a member of the Christian Ministry Board.
Prior to working at North Greenville University, Julie has been a Multi-million dollar producer realtor for JOY Real Estate. She continues to keep her license active at JOY. Julie is part owner of Styles Contracting, a growing commercial construction company in the upstate, founded by her husband Ben Styles in 1997.
She was born to Joseph and Marion Parker, on a Naval Base in Roda, Spain. After her father retired serving 21 years in the Navy, Julie's family made their way from Winter Harbor, Maine to Pensacola, Florida, up to LaGrange, Ga, and finally putting down roots in Woodruff, SC.
Julie maintains active involvement in several community service organizations. She served on the Board of Greer Middle College Charter High School, the Board of Urban Harvest Ministries serving inner-city communities of Detroit, Michigan and Bronx, New York. She has taught adult life group classes at Taylors First Baptist, women's ministry Bible studies, and served in other capacities with youth and children ministries. She is a current member of the South Carolina Christian Chamber of Commerce. Julie enjoys helping young ladies prepare and participate in the Miss South Carolina Pageant.
Julie married Ben Styles of Travelers Rest, SC in 1990 and they have 6 grown children. Amanda - NGU Alumna, Blake - serving in the USMC, Mike - serving in the USMC, Katelyn-current student at NGU, Madison - current student at NGU, and Christian-current student at NGU. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with friends and family and also enjoys hosting meals at her home. She is currently working on her Masters in Christian Ministry form North Greenville University. Julie is full of passion and energy and never meets a stranger. She is determined to share the North Greenville University story with everyone she meets. Her desire is that people know "Christ really does make the Difference!" Julie fervently believes in North Greenville University and attributes her time at NGU to making her who she is today.
