Celebrity Scoop Night

Tigerville, SC (August 27, 2010) - The North Greenville University Cline School of Music will be hosting a NGU Celebrity Scoop Night on Thursday, September 9 from 5-9 pm at Rita's Italian Ice on North Pleasantburg Drive next to Home Depot to raise funds for the school's orchestra mission trip to Israel next March.

On invitation from the Baptist Convention in Israel (BCI) and the Arab Baptist Convention (ABC), the NGU orchestra will be traveling with the Global Mission Project and Camp Kirkland to Israel to participate in a celebration of 100 years of Baptist work there.  The NGU orchestra will perform daily in various public locations throughout Israel at which the BCI and ABC have ongoing activities. The orchestra will present the gospel through music and spoken testimony.

The cost per person for the trip is $3,095. The school hopes to raise at least $60,000 through this and other efforts to help offset the cost of travel.

NGU celebrities on hand to scoop Rita's Italian Ice will be NGU President, Dr. Jimmy Epting; Vice President Dr. Don Dowless; Fine Arts Dean, Dr. Jackie Griffin; Miss NGU, Leah Gravely; NGU cheerleaders; the Crusader mascot; the NGU Radio Station; and sports coaches and players.
