Announcements for the School of Music

  • Seven students from the Cline School of Music at North Greenville University auditioned in six categories for the South Carolina National Association of Teachers of Singing Student Auditions on Friday, March 15 in Columbia at the University of South Carolina. They are Lachune Boyd, Laporshia Boyd, Josh Brown, Hannah Clayton, Hannah Hunter, Beth Keith and Caleb Ruppe. Students were able to compete in both classical and music theatre categories appropriate to their respective ages and level of study. Participating students prepare solo literature of 3-6 songs in each category and are assessed by three judges from around the state. One student from North Greenville University, Caleb Ruppe, won his classical category, Freshman College Men at the state level, qualifying him to advance to the regional auditions.
     
    The Mid-Atlantic Regional NATS auditions were held in Charleston, SC at the College of Charleston on Saturday, April 6. The Mid-Atlantic Region includes Maryland, Washington, D. C., Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Caleb Ruppe also won his classical category at the Mid-Atlantic Regional NATS in College Freshman Men.

  • Travelers Rest United Methodist is looking for a Worship Leader for their Contemporary Service who will be primarily responsible for helping to plan the service and leading/performing the music for corporate worship at the 9:00 service. Contact Rick Blackwell at 864 836-6006.

  • Unity Baptist Church in Simpsonville, SC is seeking an interim Praise & Worship leader. This is a paid position. Contact Sherry Jordan at 864 243-3388, the church at 864 862-5138 or email UnityB@bellsouth.net.

  • Roper Mountain Baptist Church in Greenville, is seeking a piano accompanist to play for worship services on Sunday morning and evening and for choir practice on Wednesday night. Contact Doug Noland at dnoland1@windstream.net or call 803 260-1950.

  • Pendleton United Methodist Church is currently seeking a part-time Director of Music. A full position description is available upon request at pumcsecretary@bellsouth.net. Three references are required. Salary is competitive. 
  • Hope Point Church in Spartanburg is currently searching for a Worship Leader. Their service is contemporary (with band) and meets once per week in a high school gymnasium. They are a mobile church with an attendance of almost 400 adults each week. You may visit their website: hopepoint.org.   • A new Southern Baptist church plant, called the WELL is forming in Landrum, SC (20 minutes from NGU). They are in need of a youth leader during this summer. Anyone who has the desire to be part of a new church focusing on ministry, please contact Mark Branyon, 864-510-1281. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has a vision of reaching a community in transition and meeting the worship needs of a diverse congregation. It meets at Landrum High School and works also with Breakthrough Church on highway 14. Brandon Poore (graduate of NGU) is the lead pastor.

  • Oak Crest Baptist Church in Greenville is seeking a pianist for Sunday and Wednesday services. Contact 269-3913 for more information.

  • Draytonville Baptist in Gaffney is seeking someone to play the organ at their church.  Must be there on Sunday morning and evening if possible.  It is a paid position.  If interested please call Pastor Keith Harrill at 864-491-0739.

  • Locust Hill Baptist Church, located in Northern Greenville County, is seeking a part-time Worship Leader. Locust Hill is a healthy, growing church with a blended style of worship. The worship leader will be responsible for planning and conducting worship services, directing the choir, praise team and instrumentalists.
