Becoming a Difference Maker

NGU’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Summary

What is a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)?

It is a five year effort that directly affects some aspect of student learning at NGU and it is required by our accrediting agency.

What is North Greenville’s QEP?

Becoming a Difference Maker is the title of the plan and it involves a student’s first year experience at NGU. The mission of this five-year effort is to provide a holistic approach to the first year experience that encourages students to develop spiritually, academically, and socially by means of creative, engaging, and relevant experiences.

What does our QEP involve?

The University will institute a comprehensive plan for a total freshman first year experience that will reinforce the university’s mission of providing a quality education in a biblically sound, Christ-centered environment. Some examples of specific activities are listed below:

  • Create a new First Year Experience (FYE) course that is Christian worldview oriented, specific to a certain major, and taught by those faculty. For example, there will be a Music First Year Experience Course for freshmen who want to major in music and who will be taught by music faculty.
  • Train First Year Experience Mentors who can counsel Freshman students
  • Develop a summer reading program for students who will enroll at NGU
  • Create a discipline specific library on the integration of faith and learning
  • Provide student worship opportunities focusing on Becoming a Difference Maker
  • Incorporate the theme of Becoming a Difference Maker into the “Link” freshmen orientation program
