The Environmental Science track prepares students for graduate studies or careers in wildlife, natural resource management, and environmental policy. The program's composition provides a foundation in ecology, earth science, and natural resources. Students can engage in mentored research with professors or gain experience as a lab teaching assistant.
Internships are an exciting way to explore career paths. Our Environmental Science track students have interned with organizations including The Greenville Zoo, Roper Mountain Science Center, and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. Working with professionals in the environmental science field presents hands-on opportunities and experiential learning.
The Environmental Science track is a new track and has only recently produced its first graduates. Graduates are continuing their studies in graduate programs at Clemson University and the University of South Carolina.
Students should choose a Biology track by the end of their freshman year. The First Year Experience program and mentor advising will help freshman choose a track.
