NGU faculty members retire
North Greenville University recently honored three faculty members for their combined service of over 65 years to the school at a retirement reception.
Dr. Shirley Hickson from Greer served NGU for 41 years teaching History. Dr. Sam Buckner from Easley came to NGU in 1997 after retiring from Clemson University. Buckner taught in the College of Science and Mathematics. Dr. Robin Johnson, Dean and Professor for the College of Education from Travelers Rest, taught for ten years.
“Dr. Hickson has been here since she was 15 years old. She is taking an early retirement,” said NGU President Epting jokingly.
Hickson as well as Johnson will be teaching one class next fall.
North Greenville University is about the people. “Certainly these three are models for our faculty and we appreciate the investment you have made. God bless you,” Dr. Randall Pannell, Vice President for Academics.
