Matthew 28:19….”Go and make disciples of all nations……”
You don’t have to be a missionary to have a global ministry! While attending NGU, we encourage every student to participate in at least one international ministry outreach. These short-term engagements will better prepare you for the globally-connected world we now live in and give you the opportunity to help fulfill the Great Commission!
Each summer, L.I.G.H.T. Teams (student mission teams) are mobilized and trained, through The Center for Global Engagement with Dr. Allen McWhite, to effectively minister to people groups located around the world in Latin America, South Asia, North Africa/Middle East and North America. In working together, L.I.G.H.T. Team members reach out in ministry using a variety of platforms, projects and service.
At a recent commissioning service held on campus, close to 500 students were recognized for serving all across the world during a summer break. “God continues to call out laborers from this generation of university students in a way that is both exciting and humbling, “ said Dr. McWhite. “Students are willing to put their comfort on the line for the sake of sharing the love of Jesus in some of the world’s most difficult and remote places.”
If you are interested in a L.I.G.H.T. Team (short-term mission team serving this summer) please contact Dr. McWhite (Craft-Hemphill 208).
