Cherokee Valley partners with NGU

TRAVELERS REST, SC - Cherokee Valley of Travelers Rest has announced that it has formed a unique partnership with North Greenville University to fund a new athletic scholarship at the school.

From now until the end of 2007, every time a North Greenville University alum, faculty, staff, family or friend of the university purchases property at Cherokee Valley, the residential golf community will donate a $20,000 U.S. savings bond to NGU’s athletic scholarship program.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this new scholarship program at North Greenville University,” said Cherokee Valley Sales Manager Blake Jarrett.  “A love of athletics and the great outdoors are the cornerstone of the Cherokee Valley lifestyle and it’s what draws so many people to the Greenville area.  We are happy to support those activities in any way we can.”

North Greenville University President Jimmy Epting is equally pleased.  “Promoting physical fitness and sports is a big priority at NGU,” Epting said.  “Joining forces with one of the community’s leaders to create this important scholarship program is a great opportunity for the university.”

Efforts to fund the scholarship will kicked off during NGU’s Homecoming Weekend, which was held from Friday, October 26 to Sunday, October, 28.  NGU alumni and their friends visited Cherokee Valley where the Marion Moorhead Alumni Golf Tournament was being held on October 26th.

“Homecoming was a great opportunity to come see what Cherokee Valley is all about,” said Jarrett.  “We’ve just begun offering our new Cottage homes, which are already creating a buzz in the community.  Plus, we have gorgeous mountain and golf view homesites, excellent club services, and exclusive Golf Digest Schools facilities.  It’s an exceptionally well-rounded community.”

To arrange a property tour at Cherokee Valley, please call the sales office at (866) 334-3253.  For more information about the cottages click here. For more on the community, visit CherokeeValleySC.com.
