In Memory of Rev. Wade Hale
Reverend Dr. Wade Hampton Hale, 95, of Rolling Green Village, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011.Born in Anderson County, SC, he was the son of the late William Waanaa and Josphine Freeman Hale. Dr. Hale was a graduate of Mars Hill College and Furman University and received his D. Min degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He retired from North Greenville Jr. College, now North Greenville University, after 35 years of service as an instructor in the Religion Department. He also served as Baptist Student Union Director for 25 years and was Interim Pastor in many churches in the Upstate. He was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Rochester Hale; two daughters: Judy H. Dennison and Brenda H. Snyder and husband, Richard Lewis Snyder, Sr. (Ricky); four grandchildren: John Michael Dennison, Kristin Dennison Abercrombie and husband, David, Keri Snyder Graves and husband Buckley and Richard Lewis Snyder, Jr. (RJ); and two greatgrandchildren, Rachel Anita Elizabeth (Rae) Graves and Charles Buckley Graves, IV.
Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, April 28, 2001 at The Mackey Mortuary with Dr. Jimmy Epting officiating. Private committal services will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ricky Snyder, 8 Blenheim Ct., Greenville and will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the mortuary.
