Lady Crusaders Seizes Opportunity to be Hands and Feet in the Community

While other students were home relaxing over Christmas break, the North Greenville University women’s basketball team decided to take action so that a senior citizen of the Greenville area could celebrate the Christmas season in her new home.

Gail McGlocklin, a senior resident in Mauldin, contacted NGU at the beginning of December to inquire if any faculty, staff, or students might assist her in a move that would greatly decrease the “heavy load” she needed to transport. Shortly after Stuart Floyd, Director of Career Planning, posted the ad in the school’s e-mail portal, the women’s basketball team decided that they wanted to serve their community in this regard.

So on December 8, the entire team, along with Stuart Floyd, helped McGlocklin transfer all of her belongings from her old apartment to her new one. The team made sure to set up the new living space as close to what she wanted as possible and refused to leave until the move was completed. She then exchanged hugs with the players and posed for pictures before closing out the day in a word of prayer.

McGlocklin was very appreciative of the Lady Crusaders’ help, that she made a small monetary contribution to the team before they departed.

This is just one more example of how Christ and the way Christ works through students, truly makes the difference at North Greenville University.
