Grace Church is one church with seven locations based out of Greenville, SC.  Grace Church is an equipping church that strives to make disciples through Biblical teaching and community.  We highly value the local church, through which we strive to help people see the importance of Christ in their lives and make disciples wherever they may be.

The KAIROS Summer internship program at Grace Church is a unique opportunity during which college students can spend a season growing in spiritual maturity while also gaining experience working in ministry.  KAIROS Summer internships offer students the ability to explore the church as a workplace while gaining educational and leadership experience in their given field.  Internships are available in Children’s Ministry, Student Ministry, Worship, Audio/Visual, Videography, Communication, Business, Counseling and Marketing.

KAIROS Summer is a 10-week internship program beginning early June and lasting through early August.  Interns are placed with a host-family who are members of our church and are paid a small stipend.

Camp Caraway

Asheboro, NC 

Summer Camp Help

Camp Caraway is a Christian summer camp ministry operated through NC Baptist Men which is a part of the Baptist State Convention of NC.

Quality Christian college men and some young women are needed to serve each summer at Camp Caraway near Asheboro, N.C. Camp Caraway summer camps are operated by NC Baptist Men. There are typically 3 weeks of boys camps, 2 weeks of children's camp, and 4 parent-child mini camps.

Summer camp recreation may include:  swimming in the lake and pool, water slides, kayaks, canoes, archery, stand on top paddle boards, air rifles, zip lines, high ropes challenge course, camp outs,cookouts, worship, missions study, and more.

Camp Counselors

College-age camp counselors must have completed at least one year in college and must show Christian maturity in their everyday life. They will be in charge of a cabin of 8-14 children and will lead them through daily activities. Depending on the program some camp counselors will serve indifferent capacities such as, recreation facilitators, life guards, and support staff.

Counselor in Training

A Counselor In Training (CIT) is a mature high school student at least age 17 and at least a rising junior. A CIT will assist the camp counselor with daily activities and occasionally in the canteen, kitchen and other beautification projects around campus.

Salary

College age counselors make $190/week and CIT’s make $120per week. Meals and lodging are included and employment begins in early June and ends in late July.

We also need several staff with experience in playing instruments and leading worship, drama and videography.

Welcome BC serves the role in making Jesus known to the Welcome Community. • Will be available to fill the pulpit (for additional compensation shown below), assist in hospital visitation in Pastor’s absence

Director of Youth and Young Adults

 

Principle Focus

Under the immediate direction of the Senior Pastor and Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC), the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries shall work accordingly with the congregation of Lexington United Methodist Church (LUMC) to provide care and discipleship to youth, young adults, their extended families, our scouting ministries, and our older adult ministries.  This position will support the mission and objectives of LUMC and as a team member in concert with the whole staff and leadership to enable us to reach our common goals.

This is a full-time position with a compensation package range between $30,000 and $35,000, depending on education, experience and ability. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Working cooperatively with the Senior Pastor and staff, the Director of Youth and Young Adults shall:

• Participate as a team player, assisting the staff and leadership to identify and achieve common goals and objectives for the overall ministries and care of the congregation.

• Supervise and guide ministries for and with students, primarily between grades 6 and 12.  This includes building and supporting a cadre of volunteers, planning events large and small, weekly meetings, retreats, special events, and mission experiences.

• Provide ministry, support, discipleship, and leadership to young adults under the age of 30.  This includes supporting those away in college, military, etc.

• Serve as Troop Chaplain for all of our scouting programs: Cubs, Boys, Girls, and others. This would include serving as the staff liaison for scouting ministries and offering religious training as needed.

• Serve as the staff liaison for our older adult ministries, primarily the Prime-Timers and the Shepherds Center

The Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries shall encourage and develop opportunities for LUMC members and guests to grow as disciples and in using these ministries as tools of evangelism. In particular, he/she shall:

• Plan, lead, and coordinate the entire youth ministry program.=

• Participate in staff meetings and training.

• Make sure the youth and young adults are represented in church decision-making meetings.

• Provide care to youth, young adults, and their families.

• Coordinate and promote the Sunday School and educational experiences for these groups.

• Be a visible presence in the worship life of the church.

• Be a visible presence and participant in the District and Conference youth ministry programs.

• Be a visible presence in the Lexington community supporting youth and young adults.

• Assist the clergy with confirmation.

• Assist new families with youth in finding their overall ministry within LUMC.

• Recruit, train, and nurture youth volunteers.

• Work alongside the staff person responsible for the Safe Sanctuaries to insure that all policies and procedures are upheld.

• Keep track of young adults away from home and touching base with them monthly.

• Develop and maintain the youth budget and funds, and manage receipts for expenses.

• Work alongside children’s ministries to build excitement in older children transitioning into youth.

• Work with the Senior Pastor, local high schools, the scholarship committee, and donors in the collection and distribution of applications and presentations of awards.

• Serve as staff liaison for bus maintenance.

• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor and/or SPRC.

• Be committed to living and modeling a Godly lifestyle inside and outside of church.

• Have good management and leadership skills.

• Be a team player.

• Be teachable – this person is a leader, as well as a life-long learner.

• Have strong interpersonal skills

• Be able to pass the background checks and Safe Sanctuary requirements.

Vacation

The Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries will receive 14 days of personal vacation each year and is responsible for lining up a substitute for those times when he/she is away.

Continuing Education and Reimbursements

This position will also offer funds for continuing education, training, and professional expenses related to travel and equipment.
