Dr. Wilson Nelson, who previously served in two advancement positions at NGU and most recently as a pastor in Canada, has returned to the University as Director of Major Gifts for Athletics.
Nelson will work with Wayne Landrith, NGU Vice President for the Crusader Club and Corporate/Foundation Giving, and his primary focus will be on obtaining financial assistance for athletic priorities within the $25 million Gift God Campaign launched by the University this past year. Nelson spent the last two and a half years as the transitional pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Prior to that, he was the NGU Director of Advancement and the Executive Director of the Crusader Club.
He also served as the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Greer prior to joining NGU. Prior to becoming a pastor, Nelson was a coach and teacher for nine years.
“I am extremely grateful to Dr. Jimmy Epting (NGU President) for letting me come back on board,” Nelson said. “I am looking forward to continuing to experience what God’s blessings will be on North Greenville University.”
Nelson is married to Mary Winn Nelson, and they have three grown children and five grandchildren.
