Institutional Scholarships with Deadlines

  • Sport Ministry Scholarship- Deadline for 2014-15: May 16, 2014
    Scholarships of up to $3000 per year are available for Sport Ministry majors. The candidate will be pursuing a Sport Ministry degree at North Greenville University with plans to continue in a career in Sport Ministry after college.   • NGU Alumni ScholarshipDeadline for 2014-15: March 30, 2014
    Children and grandchildren of NGU alumni must submit an application to the Alumni Office.  If you have questions regarding this scholarship, please contact Jason Ross. 
  • Education ScholarshipDeadline for 2014-15: March 1, 2014
    Scholarships of up to $1000 per year are available for education majors. Please click on the link to obtain an application.   • Mass Communication Scholarships- Deadline for 2014-15: April 30, 2014
    The Mass Communications Department will award academic/management scholarships and endowed scholarships to deserving Mass Communication students. Please click on the link to view requirements.  All materials should be submitted to Dr. Linwood Hagin.
  • Joyful Sound ScholarshipDeadline for 2014-15: January 31, 2014
    Joyful Sound is an ensemble of the Baptist Student Union. There are three vocal teams, each with an audio technician, and a five-piece band (keyboard, drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and bass). Members receive substantial scholarships. Teams are selected through an application process that includes an interview and audition. Please click on the link to apply online.   • NGU Campus Band- Deadline for 2014-15: January 31 ,2014
    The NGU Campus Band is a ministry of the Baptist Student Union and the campus ministries department.  The band includes, vocalists, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboard, drums, bass, and an audio technician.  Members receive substantial scholarships.  The team is selected through an application process that includes an interview and audition.  Please click on the link to apply online.   • Jeff Cranfill Music Scholarship- Deadline for 2014-15: April 1, 2014
    $2000 Scholarship for incoming freshmen or returning students may apply.  Must be an instrumental music education major and have at least a 2.5 GPA.  Please click on the link to obtain an application.  If you have questions regarding this scholarship, please contact the Fine Arts Department.
  • Christian Ministry Scholarship- Deadline for 2014-15: March 1, 2014

  • ACT Two Scholarships- Deadline for 2014-15: March 28, 2014
    Act Two is a drama ministry troupe sponsored by the Baptist Student Union and the NGU Theatre Department.  They travel and work with approx. 30 churches, schools, and other organizations each semester.  The team's focus is to present creative worship and/or creative programming through drama.  Act Two offers a partial tuition scholarship to selected students to minister on the team.  If you have questions regarding this scholarship, please contact Amy Dunlap or Mason Easterling.
  • First Year Experience Mentor Scholarship- Deadline for 2014-15: March 25, 2014
    Scholarships are awarded to upperclassmen who assist in the FYE program.  Scholarship amounts vary. Please click on the link to obtain an application.   • Art Department Scholarships- Deadline for 2014-15: March 1, 2014

  • Hendrick's Scholarship- Deadline for 2014-15: March 30, 2014
    Scholarship given to students from Hillcrest & Woodmont High Schools. Scholarship amounts vary.  Please submit application to the NGU Admissions Office.  
  • Resident Assistant Scholarships & Activities Assistant Scholarships- Deadline for 2014-15: March 7, 2014
    Scholarships available for rising sophomores, juniors, seniors at NGU.  Students must be in good academic standing and be active in church. Students must have a desire to serve the campus and the student body.  RA's and AA's will serve in residence halls through the semester and are expected to be good moral, academic, and religious examples.  Applications are available in the Office of Student Services and you may obtain the applications by clicking on the links listed above.  If you have questions regarding this scholarship, please contact Donald Lilly.  

Other Scholarships

  • Acteen / Challenger's (previously: Baptist Young Men) Scholarship - Acteens with Queen Regent Award and Challengers with Missions Service Award will receive $500 per semester. The student's Acteen/Challenger leader at their church must obtain a letter verifying the student has completed the program from the State Acteen/Challenger Director-Cliff Satterwhite at 1-800-723-7242 and submit it to the NGU Financial Aid Office. 
  • Awana Scholarship-$500 scholarship to students who earn the Meritorious Trophy or the Citation Award.  The scholarship will be renewable each year as long as the student maintains a 2.5 GPA. Must provide a letter to NGU Financial Aid Office from the National Awana Director stating you have completed the program.  Current Contact: Brannon Marshall (Phone: 630-540-4511) or click on his name to email him.
  • Boys/Girls State Scholarship- $1000 scholarship a year to students who have participated in the Boys/Girls State Program.  Must provide a copy of the certificate to the NGU Financial Aid Office.
  • Campus Minister Intern Scholarship-Nine returning students will be selected to serve as interns in the campus ministry office. Interns are selected through an application and interview process. Interested students should contact the Campus Ministry Office.
  • Church Related Vocation Scholarship- Must be a Christian Studies, Youth Ministry, Intercultural Studies, Media Ministry, or Church Music major.  Will receive up to $800 per year for a full time student. No application required and scholarship is renewable provided you keep one of these majors. Please see the Financial Aid Office for more information if you do not automatically receive it.
  • Employee Tuition Discount - Full-time employees, their spouses, and their dependent children are eligible for full-tuition remission for courses offered by NGU.  Please contact the Financial Aid Office for more information or see the attached policy.
  • Tuition Exchange Programs- For children of employees of other Southern Baptist Institutions, CCCU, & Tuition Exchange, Inc. Must apply with the Academic Office  (Angie Watson). Please see link for policy information.
  • Family Scholarship - When two or more siblings are enrolled full-time in the same semester, each student receives $500 per year. Please contact the Financial Aid Office if this scholarship is not automatically awarded.
  • International Student Scholarship- $3000 (Residents) and $1500 (Commuters), must maintain a 2.0 GPA.  Please see the Financial Aid Office if you do not automatically receive this scholarship
  • Jessica Sachs Memorial Scholarship-This scholarship will be given in memory of Miss Jessica Sachs to any student who is a member of any Baptist church affiliated with the New England Baptist Convention. Please click on the link to obtain more information.
  • Marching Band and Pep Band Scholarships- Students who have marching band or colorguard experience may participate. Please click on the link to obtain more information. Interested students should contact the Band Director, Chris Davis.
  • Out of State Residential Grant- Students who are not residents of South Carolina and live on campus may be eligible to receive a grant up to $2000.  Students who receive the Employee Tuition Discount Scholarship, Employee Tuition Exchange, Missionary Children Scholarship, Jessica Sachs Memorial Scholarship, or International Scholarships are not eligible. Please contact the NGU Financial Aid Office if this scholarship is not automatically awarded.
  • South Carolina Baptist Scholarship - Active members of churches affiliated with the South Carolina Southern Baptist Convention will receive $500. Available only to freshmen. 
  • Southern Baptist Employee's Children Scholarship - Full-time dependent students who are children of full-time employees of a Southern Baptist church, institution or agency will receive $800 per year. Please click on the link to obtain more information.
  • Southern Baptist Missionary Children Scholarship- NGU provides a scholarship to  dependent children of full-time missionaries with the North American Mission Board & the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Please click on the link to obtain more information.
  • Student Media Scholarships- Editors and managers of the NGU yearbook, newspaper, radio station, and TV station are given scholarships.  Please contact Dr. Linwood Hagin in Mass Communications for more info.
  • Student Work Program - Students may earn up to $1000 per year for employment on campus. Please visit the workstudy webpage to find available jobs.
  • Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC)- North Greenville University students who participate in ROTC through Furman University may receive scholarships to cover tuition and books. Please call 864-294-3402 if you are interested in signing up for the program.
  • Theatre Scholarships- Students showing outstanding ability in acting, directing, or technical theatre.
