NGU Named One of Nation's Top Online Teaching Programs
AccreditedSchoolsOnline.org recently ranked North Greenville University as one of the nationís top online teaching programs in the United States.
Out of the thousands of online teaching programs offered throughout the country, NGU ranks 31st on the list compiled of the top 50 online degrees for teaching.
According to the organizationís webpage, ďAspiring teachers must earn a degree or specialized certificate in order to work in the field in nearly all schools. They can often earn that degree online, with additional in-person practical experience that prepares them for their career or career advancement. Finding the online school that offers the program they want as well as the services that meet their needs can be a challenge.Ē
As in any institutional ranking system, certain requirements must be met in order to receive recognition and rank. Examples of requirements that were necessary for NGU to be listed within the top 50 colleges in this category, were: accreditation, a not-for-profit institution, the open availability of student resources, small student/teacher ratios, availability of academic counseling, graduation rates, and financial aid offerings.
According to the organizationís CEO and founder, Doug Jones, ďThe presence of good teachers is a critical need in any high-functioning society. The colleges and universities [on the list] offer not only an excellent education for future teachers, but also the flexibility of being able to complete a program off-campus.Ē
With five distinct graduate online teaching programs at North Greenville and an online graduation rate that remains higher than the national average, the school attained a 93.36 out of a 100 grade. North Greenville outranked fellow institutions such as Harvard, Liberty, and Notre Dame.
As an increasing number of individuals look towards online centers of learning to complete their education, NGU remains at the forefront of institutions looking to bridge the gap between prospective teachers and their future classrooms.
