North Greenville University had four men's basketball players named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2011-12 Honors Court today as announced by the NABC. The award recognizes those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2011-12 season.
Former Crusaders Jonathan Bozymowski (Sport Management) , Luke Lattimer (Sport Management), and Jason Wray (Biology) joined junior Chris Dean (Sport Management) in receiving this prestigious recognition. Lattimer and Wray were recognized for the second consecutive year.
"We could not be happier for our student-athletes to be recognized for their hard work in the classroom. Our team GPA is constantly around at 3.0 and it is nice to see our players honored for more than just success on the court", said head coach Chad Lister.
The NABC Honors Court awards the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, an athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
- Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
- Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2011-12 academic year.
- Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
