Dr. Holcombe’s educational background includes a B. S. in Industrial Management with a minor in engineering from Clemson University, a MBA from the Clemson/Furman MBA Program, a MS in Industrial Management from Clemson University, and a Ph. D. in Organization and Management with a concentration in Information Technology Management from Capella University. He teaches Business Strategy, Operations Management, Personal Finance, and Professional Development. He has also taught Information Systems and Operations in the Master of Business Administration program.
Before joining NGU in the Fall of 2007, Dr. Holcombe was an assistant professor of business and coordinator of curriculum services in the Adult and Graduate Studies Department at Southern Wesleyan University. Prior to this Dr. Holcombe worked for 15 years for Bigelow-Sanford (carpet manufacturing) as Manager of Commercial Tufted Production Plans, and at Asten-Johnson (ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of paper machine clothing) for seven years as an industrial engineer and production planner. While at Asten-Johnson, Dr. Holcombe was a member of the enterprise resource planning system selection and implementation team.
Dr. Holcombe hold the Certified In Integrated Resource Management (CIRM) certification from APICS, and has professional memberships in the Association for Operations Management (APICS) and the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS).
