NGU Student Health Insurance Plan

All registered students taking three or more credit hours are automatically enrolled in the student health insurance plan. The premium for the insurance will be billed on your tuition statement.

You will be allowed to waive the NGU coverage with proof of comparable health insurance coverage.

Please begin the waiver process before the deadline of August 13, 2010 so that verification can be made and the fee adjusted.

The cost is $258 and is added to your university statement. This will provide the coverage from August 1, 2010 through July 31, 2011.

If you have filled out the Emergency Fact Sheet for Student Services at North Greenville University, this does not qualify as information for the waiver process of the NGU student coverage. You are required to go to www.studentinsurance.com or call 1-888-722-1668 to request a waiver of the NGU student insurance.

If you are an athlete for North Greenville University, the athletic insurance provided by the school's athletic department is considered a secondary policy and will not work with any of the government sponsored insurance plans such as medicaid, tricare, champus, etc. If you are covered under a government sponsored plan, you will be required to purchase the school provided health insurance plan.

If you have other comparable insurance, you may go to www.studentinsurance.com to waive the NGU coverage. You will have to provide the following information if you are eligible to waive:

  • Policy Holder Name
  • Effective Date
  • Termination Date
  • Name of the Insurance Company
  • Policy Number or Member ID Number
  • Address and Telephone Number of Insurance Company

You will receive a pending confirmation number initially and once the insurance has been verified, you will receive the final confirmation number.

North Greenville University will not remove the fee from your account until we have the final verification from the proof provided. If the proof is declined or none if available, you will be expected to pay the NGU health insurance premium.
