Last month Hurricane Sandy hit the northeastern United States with devastating force. The number of lives affected by this super-storm is overwhelming with thousands having lost their homes and over 100 reported deaths.
Many NGU students, faculty, and staff asked how they could help with the relief efforts. As a result, NGU's Baptist Student Union has organized a trip to Ocean City, New Jersey partnering with Samaritan's Purse which is already on the ground assisting affected communities.
Twenty-two students and alumni along with NGU professor Keeth Willingham left today, sacrificially giving up their Thanksgiving break with family and friends, to assist others in need. The group will be helping with debris removal and other general tasks.
"Another group from NGU will be going back with the South Carolina Baptist Convention for a follow-up visit December 12-17," said Jody Jennings, NGU BSU Director.
Please pray for this group for travel mercies and safety in their work.
"The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me." Matthew 25:40 NASB
