POSITION: Assistant Professor of Biology/Chemistry

BIOLOGY DEPENDING ON QUALIFICATIONS
The School of Science and Math at North Greenville University is receiving applications for a full-time faculty position beginning August 2021. Candidates applying for this position must hold a PhD in biology or chemistry. Specialties in order of descending priority include biochemistry and related molecular biology disciplines; inorganic or analytical chemistry; biotech and computational applications of biology; zoology or field ecology; and/or epidemiology and biostatistics. The successful applicant must be willing to teach a variety of science lectures and lab sections, including both general education and upper-level courses. Preference will be given to those with undergraduate classroom teaching experience and a demonstrable interest in research as appropriate for undergraduates, including incorporation of research into coursework. We particularly invite candidates who will enhance the racial, ethnic, gender, or cultural diversity of our university.
North Greenville University is a teaching university of the South Carolina Baptist Convention and is a tobacco and alcohol-free campus. This position is a full-time, nine-month position. Science and math faculty report to a Department Chair who reports to the Associate Dean of the School of Science and Mathematics (who may be the same person as Chair), who reports to the Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences.
Normal academic operations are generally Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Occasional special event work on Saturdays and evenings may be required.
