North Greenville University is receiving applications for the position of professor of Physical Education at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level beginning in Fall 2021. This is a nine-month, full-time position. This person will also serve as the Program Coordinator for the Physical Education degree. The ideal applicant will have 2+ years’ experience teaching physical education at the K-12 level and also hold a Ph.D. in physical education. Those with considerable K-12 teaching experience who hold a terminal degree in a related field are also invited to apply. Those with K-12 teaching experience and who are ABD in their doctoral studies are welcome to apply.

The successful applicant will teach various undergraduate courses in such areas as team sports, grade level appropriate pedagogy, personal fitness, and measurement and evaluation. Applicants with publications, grant writing experience, experience using Blackboard, and experience integrating their Christian faith into their instruction will be preferred.

The growing NGU Physical Education Degree is approved by the South Carolina Department of Education and SACSCOC.

• Visual Abilities: Read reports, create presentations, and use a computer system for teaching and administrative duties.

• Dexterity, grasping, feeling, writing, typing and using the telephone, copier, and computer systems.

• Mobility: Open files and operate office machines; move between departments and attend classes, meetings, and functions across campus.

• Speaking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

• Lifting, pulling, pushing: Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force ordinarily, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions – 75‐100% of the time.





The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Dean of the School of Health and Wellness.





Travel to schools in the region to observe and supervise student majors and to supervise student-teachers.  Some travel may be required for professional training in addition to performing University recruitment efforts in the community.
