Culture Creators for Christ

Our Purpose

“In the beginning, God created. . .” Creation was God’s first recorded act. As image-bearers of Christ, creativity is part of our divine calling. By nurturing that calling, we honor that Christ’s image in ourselves and others. The arts serve as powerful vehicles for storytelling and representation, portraying the entire arc of God’s redemptive narrative. When we tell stories, we promote love, faith, redemption, forgiveness, and grace. Moreover, genuine artistic community celebrates truth and Truth, recognizing the call to love our neighbors and share our gifts. North Greenville University recognizes this high calling.

The College of Communication and Fine Arts at North Greenville University aspires to glorify God by cultivating culture-creators in visual arts, communication, music, and theatre who are equipped to serve as transformational leaders for church and society. Culture Creators for Christ exists to support the arts at NGU by raising funds for scholarships, operations, and facilities. What Our Students Are Saying

Rebecca Cribb

“The environment in the art department is one of the most welcoming and encouraging spaces I’ve been in. Everyone I’ve met is more than willing to help and support each other, and I’ve learned a lot in my time here.”

Claira Mayhall

“The art department at North Greenville University has consistently been a place of creative inspiration and insight to all those who enter! While studying the arts here, I have felt encouraged by each of my professors to continue to pursue my passion as well garnered wisdom on how to pursue it more effectively. Some of my favorite classes have been ceramics, film photography, and printmaking! Every class has been a challenging as well as rewarding environment. I am exceedingly grateful for the time I’ve spent learning art at NGU!”

Laura Cervantez

“The art program here at North Greenville has been an incredible family to me in my time here that has allowed me to grow in many ways. The professors have shown me genuine kindness as well as interest in my life, always being willing to help out in any way – they have helped me connect with several big opportunities through Paris Mountain, the education department, and multiple exhibitions around the upstate, in addition to the demonstrations, lectures, and feedback within the classes themselves. The classmates have been a huge encouragement, always pushing me and inspiring me to do better, as well as being some of my closest friends on campus. We’ve bonded over difficult projects and shared feedback with one another, and also have made some great memories together both in Art Club and outside of class. Overall, being in North Greenville’s art program has been a great experience for me, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it.”

Abigail Wilson

“I really enjoyed taking the art history classes here at NGU. They didn’t just deepen my knowledge of art history, but caused me to appreciate all art movements in certain ways…even modern art.  I’ve experienced how content from each class in a way has built off of one another and I’ve used some of this knowledge in non-art classes as well which is neat.”
