"In times of change, the learners will inherit the world, while the knowers remain beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists." -Eric Hoffer
  • Expertise
I am a teacher at heart, and have advanced degrees in education, with a focus on supporting diverse learners. My experience includes working with students who have learning disabilities, as well as those identified as gifted and talented. I have taught 3rd grade and served as a special education teacher, helping students achieve their full potential. Additionally, I’ve had the privilege of traveling across the state to provide intervention support to classroom teachers, furthering my commitment to enhancing student outcomes in various educational settings.
  • Research Interests
My research focuses on the intersection of school safety and educational equity. I wrote my dissertation on the relationship between attending a high-poverty school and the likelihood of experiencing a school shooting, examining the impact of socioeconomic factors on student safety. Beyond this, I am deeply committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of background or ability, have access to meaningful opportunities within the general education setting. My work continues to explore ways to promote inclusion and equity for all learners.

  • Professional Experience

I remain actively involved with students as a bi-vocational youth and children’s minister, as well as through substitute teaching in local schools. These roles allow me to stay connected and aware of the evolving needs of students while providing opportunities to share the light of Christ. By engaging with students in both educational and spiritual settings, I aim to foster their growth and well-being, helping them navigate challenges with faith and confidence.
