Each year, the Institute for Global Leadership provides opportunities for highly motivated students, along with faculty and staff, to participate in service and ministry projects in a wide variety of cross-cultural contexts. Participants on these IGL Team must demonstrate an advanced level of maturity, the ability to function well within a group setting, a willingness to follow the directions of team leaders and field partners, and the capacity to work and serve in challenging cross-cultural settings. Indispensable qualities for IGL Team members include availability, flexibility, and teachability. Most IGL Teams serve for 1-2 weeks, although opportunities for longer-term service are available in cooperation with our field partners and network organizations. Students who participate in IGL teams will never look at themselves—or the world—in the same way again!

Join the December Uganda team in engaging an unreached people group on the western edge of the country. You build relationships with the villagers using community outreach and leadership development. The culture is welcoming and friendly and you will find genuine hospitality. The work is not easy and will require a lot of walking but the smiles of the people are unrivaled.

NORTH AFRICA / MIDDLE EAST
Spend your spring break in one of the most hospitable countries in the world! Join us as we seek to build lasting relationships with the students while finding creative ways to teach them English and STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Math) classes. We will be working with kids of all ages in a small rural K-10thgrade school located in the mountains.

Clarkston, GA is known as the “Ellis Island of the South” due to the fact that it’s home to people from over 120 countries around the world. You have the unique opportunity to invest in the lives of these residents by serving alongside mercy ministry programs, assisting in after-school care programs and participate in community outreach events in neighborhoods, apartments, and local businesses. Join the May Uganda team in engaging an unreached people group in the Northeast section of the country. In this part of the world, the terrain is rugged, and the people live in very difficult conditions. The team will serve the village through community development projects.
