The Office of Marketing and Communications (MAC) supports
North Greenville University by managing all branding, marketing, and
communications for the university.
As a university, we value and desire consistency across all of
our marketing and communications, whether online or in print. By using
consistent brand and style, we ensure that our work is efficient, effective,
and supportive of the university’s mission.
Our team of qualified professionals provides expertise in
the areas of copywriting, designing, managing marketing initiatives, web design, printing,
photography, and videography:
Director of Communications
LaVerne Howell serves as NGU’s director of communications. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of South Carolina (USC) in 1987. Howell first came to NGU in 1996 as assistant director for development and then served in numerous roles in the Office of Advancement. His family are members of Berea First Baptist Church in Greenville, SC, where he and his wife, Susan, are involved in the music ministry. His son, Pace, currently attends USC. In his free time, Howell sings baritone with the Greenville Chorale. He is also a certified judge with the Miss South Carolina and Miss America pageant organizations.
Director of Marketing
Erin Wall (’00, MBA ’07) serves as director of marketing for the Office of Marketing and Communications at NGU, where she earned her bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in business and mass communication. She later completed her master’s in business administration. Prior to moving into the marketing role, Wall served in several different roles in the Office of Admissions. In her free time, she enjoys time with her two children, singing, and all things related to Disney.
Celeste Hawkins (’11) serves as content coordinator at NGU,
where she earned her bachelor’s in English language arts secondary education.
Prior to working at NGU, Hawkins worked full-time as a freelance writer and
editor, with clients including USA TODAY 10Best and “edible UPCOUNTRY.” She
also created and managed Travelers Rest Here, the official travel source of
nearby Travelers Rest, SC. In her free time, Hawkins enjoys singing with the
worship team at her church, playing sand volleyball with friends, and reading
books with a happy ending.
Web and Brand Manager
Jennifer Lynch serves as the web and brand manager for the
Office of Marketing and Communications at NGU. Lynch has a Bachelor of Arts
degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate, where she studied
graphics and web design. Prior to working at NGU, she worked in the corporate
sector managing brand, web, and graphics for multiple companies including her
freelance business JL Designs. Lynch enjoys being a soccer mom, camping, and
spending time with her family and two dogs.
Graphic Design and Social Media Coordinator
Sheila Price (’08) serves as graphic design and social media
coordinator at NGU, where she earned her bachelor’s in mass communication.
Prior to working at NGU, Price worked at Clemson University and Southern
Wesleyan University. She also freelanced as a photographer and graphic
designer. Price manages the main NGU social media accounts and has been able to
increase user engagement and followers. She is currently working towards her
master’s in strategic communication from Liberty University. Price is married
to Cody, and they have one son, Archer, and a baby on the way.
Walker Broad (’17) serves as the marketing assistant at NGU. She
is a 2017 graduate from North Greenville, where she earned a bachelor’s degree
in interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in linguistics and Spanish. To
Broad, Tigerville will always be a special place, since her brother and her late
grandfather both graduated from the university, as well. When she’s not at work,
you can find her spending quality time with family and friends or enjoying a
challenging hike with her beloved dog and her fiancé, Rico (another NGU grad).
