NGU Tees Off Homecoming Weekend with Annual Golf Classic

North Greenville University held its 29th Annual Marion Moorhead Golf Classic on Friday, October 28 at Cherokee Valley Golf Club in Travelers Rest. This annual event hosted 102 players and kicked off the school’s Salute to America homecoming weekend.

The golf classic first place winners were Randy Cisson, Chad Harrington, Ricky Mansfield, and Matthew Waters. Second place trophies and prizes were awarded to Jeff Campbell, Scott Hovis, Mike Main, and Trey Wolfe. Third place trophies went to Doug Eudy, Dickie Morrison, Jeff Scoots, and Peanut Wrightsell.

Jimmy Eudy won the Lowe’s of Greer stainless steel gas grill for closest to the pin on hole 15. Alumna Denise Shirley, class of 2014, won the Allen Arms Shooting Range annual membership package for the longest drive on hole eight and a Crusader Club package for the longest drive on hole 14.

Dave Edwards Toyota of Spartanburg placed a new Toyota Camry on a hole-in-one hole.  

Monies raised from the tournament will fund student scholarships.
