As a graduate of North Greenville University, I know how much the instruction of my professors has helped developed me professionally and personally. Therefore, I am thankful to now have the chance to return to NGU as a professor to teach and mentor students the same way they once guided me. I have always had an interest in teaching. However, it was while I was working towards my Ph.D. that the Lord solidified my love of teaching and started opening the paths to pursue it. The challenge of explaining complex and convoluted concepts to others has always brought me joy. It is my goal in the classroom to use the study of science to transform students into lifelong learners and use biology to help students see the wonders of Creation in the world. I desire to develop my students into critical thinkers who evaluate all from a biblical worldview, regardless of the career path they pursue.
Favorite Course to Teach: My favorite course to teach is biochemistry (CHEM 3410) Biochemistry finally allows all those years of chemistry to make sense while ties it together with those biological concepts they have been learning for quite a few semesters. Biochemistry also serves as a window into the complexity of God’s Creation and gives the ultimate evidence for the Lord as Creator of all things.
