NGU Prepares for Fall with NGUcares
Posted on: March 11, 2021
Tigerville, SC (May 8, 2020) As North Greenville University’s (NGU) unprecedented spring semester comes to a close, the university is already looking towards the fall as it launches an exciting new initiative, NGUcares. Through this recently developed program, each NGU student will be assigned a personal NGUcares partner who will stay in touch with the student throughout the summer.
NGUcares is just one of a number of initiatives that developed out of the work of the COVID-19 Response Team as it works together to coordinate the University’s response to the pandemic.
“Our desire as a University is to be a resource and encouragement to students throughout their time at NGU. We are hopeful that NGUcares will be a wonderful way to serve our community during these uncertain days and beyond,” said President Gene C. Fant, Jr. “NGUcares isn’t just something we’ll be doing; it’s a description of who we are and what we seek to demonstrate on a daily basis.”
NGU’s leadership recognizes that COVID-19 stole much from its students this spring and plans to remain connected with them through phone and FaceTime calls, texts, emails, and postcard messages filled with uplifting scripture and encouraging words from its 22 NGUcares partners. These partners will lead each student to many campus resources in preparation for a successful transition back to campus in the fall.
“I’m so excited to be a part of this summer initiative. We miss our students and want to stay in touch with them,” said Assistant Vice President for Student Success and Retention Vlad Sabou. “We have 22 amazing NGU staff members from across our campus who will be ministering to our students.”
The NGUcares program begins Monday, May 11. For details about this or other exciting news about NGU, go to www.ngu.edu/news.
