Student Magazine ‘The Vision’ Earns National Awards

Tigerville, SC (October 28, 2019) North Greenville University’s College of Communications & Fine Arts student-produced magazine “The Vision” won three awards in the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s (CSPA) National Contest for the 2018-19 school year. The students won honorable mention in the Cultural Feature category and placed in the Headline Writing and Alternative Story Presentation categories.
Taylor Loughry (expected ‘20) from Lancaster received honorable mention for “Setting the Stage,” in the Cultural Feature category; “The Vision” staff placed in the Headline Writing category; and Madi Estella (’19) from Boiling Springs placed for her alternative story presentation of “Hubble.”
“The staff of the Vision worked incredibly hard in 2018-19. They spend many hours brainstorming headlines so I am especially proud that they won second place in headline writing in a national contest,” said “The Vision” Magazine and “The Vision” Online Adviser Karyn Campbell. “Taylor Loughry and Madi Estella are both incredibly talented and deserve to be recognized for their work as well.”
CSPA is an international student press association, founded in 1925, whose goal is to unite student journalists and faculty advisers at schools and colleges through educational conferences, idea exchanges, textbooks, critiques, and award programs.
