Regional Accreditation


North Greenville University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, educational specialist, and doctorate degrees. North Greenville University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) is a private nonprofit organization [501(c)(3)] that helps expand students’ access to educational opportunities and ensure more efficient, consistent, and effective regulation of distance education programs.

    National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)

    National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) accreditation is among the most highly respected in higher education. It was founded in 1924 for the purpose of securing a better understanding among institutions of higher education engaged in work in music; of establishing a more uniform method of granting credit; and of setting minimum standards for the granting of degrees and other credentials.

    NASM has been recognized by the United States Department of Education as the agency responsible for the accreditation of all music curricula. The Association has also been recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation and is a member of the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors.

    National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST)

    National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST) accreditation is among the most highly respected recognitions in higher education for theatre programs. Founded in 1965, NAST exists to promote excellence in theatre education by establishing national standards for academic quality, artistic achievement, and professional preparation. The Association works to improve educational practices, encourage institutional excellence, and maintain high standards for theatre programs across the United States.

    NAST has been recognized by the United States Department of Education as the accrediting agency for theatre and theatre-related disciplines. The Association is part of the National Office for Arts Accreditation and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

  • NGU Statements

    North Greenville University reserves the right to make changes in curricula, degree requirements, course offerings, and all academic regulations, when, in the judgment of the faculty, the president, or the Board of Trustees, such changes are in the best interests of the student and the university. 

    Registration at the university assumes the student’s acceptance of all published academic regulations, including ones that appear in the university course catalog and all others found in any other official announcement.

    Registered students are liable for all financial obligations not covered by financial aid.

    Career information, including limited data on employment opportunities for NGU graduates, is available at the counseling center located in the Jacks and Deborah Tingle Student Life Center.
