The phrase “for such a time as this” from the story of Esther 4:13-14 always reminds me that God has put me where I am to fulfill His purpose.

  • My Story

I was born in D.C. and raised in Maryland. I started my undergraduate education in physical sciences at Penn State, but transferred to the University of Maryland after 3 semesters, where I found my love of life sciences. After earning my BS, I worked as a medical assistant in a dermatology practice. It was there that I was mentored by my MD to advance my education and become a PA. While at the GWU PA program, I met my husband, Lennie, at a church event. We got married over a weekend during my surgery rotation! After I graduated PA school and Lennie separated from the US Navy, we moved to the Birmingham, AL area. There we lived, worked, and raised our two daughters. We were very involved in the local cycling community and even volunteer coached our girls’ high school mountain bike team. When Lennie received an employment opportunity in SC in early 2024, we took a leap of faith and followed it. SC is a beautiful area with a lot of outdoor activities, especially cycling, and both of our daughters attend colleges in the Carolinas. Because of God’s divine provision, I was connected to the Department of PA Medicine and now I am a faculty member. Patient education has always been my passion, as well as mentoring young adults into medical professions. I am honored and blessed to be able to help educate and train future PAs.
