‘Junie B. Jones’ Debuts at The Billingsley Theatre
Posted on: September 17, 2026

Tigerville, SC —North Greenville University (NGU) Theatre will present ‘Junie B. Jones’ at the Billingsley Theatre Sept. 17-19 and Sept. 24-26.
Written by Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, the musical is based on the popular children’s books by Barbara Park. The show follows the adventures of Junie B. as she navigates starting first grade, getting glasses, meeting new friends, and the all-important kickball tournament.
“The show is funny, energetic, and filled with songs that you’ll still be humming for days,” said Amy Dunlap, associate dean for the School of Arts at NGU. “Those familiar with the books will appreciate the nostalgia of revisiting Junie B. and her ‘top secret personal beeswax,’ and those unfamiliar will appreciate the exciting pace and joyful choreography.”
In addition to their performances at the Billingsley Theatre, the cast and crew will also be taking the show to local elementary schools as a touring and outreach experience for NGU theatre students.
“The show will tour to Heritage Elementary, Duncan Elementary, Asheville Christian Academy and Trinity Fairview Academy. Tigerville Elementary will be coming to the Billingsley for a private matinee on Sept. 17,” said Dunlap.
Dunlap said she is proud of the cast and crew as they rehearse and are getting ready for the first performance.
“I’m incredibly excited to be working with such a dedicated, hard-working cast who are bringing such talent, joy, and generosity to the rehearsal process,” she said. “We started rehearsals two days before classes started, and our first tour show is Sept. 14th. That is a very rapid turn-around for a musical production, and I couldn’t be prouder of all the work they’re doing.”
The cast for Junie B. Jones includes: Anslee Johnson (Junie B. Jones), Rebecca Panagiotacos (Lucille), Ryleigh Ann Guyton (May), Haddon Owens (Herb), Hammond Hodges (Sheldon), Kara Sicko (Chenille and Mom), Annie Call (Camille), Kayden DeBruhl (Josie), Emma Grace Dillard (Bobbie Jean), Makayla Panagiotacos (Grace), and Maddux Schmidt (Mr. Scary, Dad, and Mrs. Gutzman).
The crew includes: Amy Dunlap (Director/Choreographer/Props), Angela Barrett (Music Director), Ryleigh Ann Guyton (Assistant Choreographer), Bess Park (Scenic and Lighting Design), Kennedy Roberts (Costume Design), Grace Turner (Stage Manager), Natalie Marcy (Assistant Stage Manager), Daniel Johnson (Sound).
