NGU Community to Spend 100 Hours in Scripture

Tigerville, SC—For the ninth consecutive year, the North Greenville University (NGU) community will spend 100 hours reading through the Bible to start the academic year.
This tradition, which has been ongoing since 2018, strongly reflects NGU’s core value of being biblically faithful.
“We want to be a people who love God’s Word because we love God. One of our core values is Biblically Faithful. To be faithful to the Bible, you must know what it says,” said Dallas Vandiver, assistant vice president of student ministries at NGU.
Vandiver said this event demonstrates devotion to God’s Word as participates read aloud passages over the course of 100 hours.
“When our administration, faculty, staff, and students join to read Scripture for 100 hours, they demonstrate devotion to God’s Word,” he said. “We pray that the devotion to Scripture leads us to be faithful to Scripture.”
All NGU faculty, staff, and students are invited and encouraged to sign up to participate.
The event will begin Monday, September 21 at 8 a.m. and will end on Friday, September 25 at noon. It will be held beside Todd Prayer Chapel, and readers who sign up can pick up where the previous leader left off with the Bible provided.
