NGU to Host Youth Pastor Event on April 20
Posted on: March 20, 2026
Tigerville, SC—North Greenville University (NGU) will host a Youth Pastor Roundtable on April 20.
The event will feature a free lunch as well as a question-and-answer session with Dr. Richard Ross, senior professor of youth ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and author of more than 25 books.
During the event, Ross will present new research detailing the father’s impact on children’s faith and metal health. He will also give students pastors concrete ways to partner with and champion dads, based on the new research.
Dr. Mike Landrum, assistant professor of youth ministries at NGU, encourages youth ministry pastors and volunteers to attend this event to gain wisdom from Ross.
“Since Dr. Ross has given five-plus decades to youth ministry leadership, writing, and teaching, the opportunity to glean from his experience would be worth the effort to attend,” said Landrum. “He is a national leader in Southern Baptist and the broader evangelical youth ministry community. He will share with us the most recent research on the importance of dads in the lives of teenagers.”
In addition to presenting his most recent research, Ross will make the case that student pastors are going to become even more valuable to the church as they engage with families.
“I am looking forward to hearing about the latest research Dr. Ross will present and meeting with youth pastors, youth ministry volunteers, bi-vocational youth leaders, and NGU alumna,” said Landrum.
Ross is set to speak during chapel at 10 a.m. in Turner Chapel. Participants are encouraged to attend chapel prior to the luncheon at 11:30 a.m. in the President’s Dining Room located in Todd Gathering Place.
Registration for the event is now available online.
