Teach the Next Generation to Lead

Inspire students to get excited about our world and be informed about the many aspects of technology and history that shape our lives. Connect the past to the present in a way that students can understand with culture, geography, economics, and government. 

This program will provide you with the foundation and experience to teach 9th-12th grade students in a private institution. You’ll train in a variety of social studies fields, including economics, psychology, geography, sociology, history, and more, equipping you to confidently teach and understand key concepts across multiple subject areas.

Why Study Social Studies at NGU?

  • Teach in Private Schools: This program will prepare you to teach at the secondary level in private institutions.
  • MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching) Ready! This program will academically prepare you to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching at another institution if you wish to teach in South Carolina high schools. An MAT will provide you a higher starting salary and earning potential than a BA in Social Studies alone.
  • Teaching Flexibility: You’ll study a broad range of course material to teach high school students in a variety of subject areas.
