There have been debates for many years about the purpose of business. Many argue that the only purpose of business is the maximization of profits or shareholder wealth.
Obviously making a profit is a crucial part of operating a business, but how would a biblical worldview influence the debate about the purpose of business?
Followers of Christ should bring God’s truth to bear on every aspect of society, including business and economics. God has much to say in His Word about how to do business. The College of Business and Entrepreneurship at NGU helps students understand what God’s Word has to say about business-related topics such as how to treat people, serve others, build leaders, solve problems, create strong organizational cultures, view money, manage resources, articulate mission statements, develop strategic plans, finance projects, and execute with excellence. We believe that business and entrepreneurship provide opportunities for all people to learn, grow, take risks, achieve, and use their God-given gifts and talents to support themselves, reach their full potential, and become all that God wants them to be.
The College of Business and Entrepreneurship has fifteen full-time faculty members and several part-time faculty members. They are gifted teachers and committed Christians who feel called to serve the students at North Greenville University. They work to advance the Kingdom of God through their teaching, mentoring, scholarship, and service activities.
The College of Business and Entrepreneurship offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. The undergraduate programs include majors for traditional students in Accounting, Business Administration, International Business, and Marketing and an online degree in Business and Leadership for adult students. The Master of Business Administration is a 36-hour program with classroom, online, and hybrid formats. A concentration in Human Resources is an additional option in the MBA program.
